The tools used to harvest rice in the form of a small knife, how to hold the tool by tucking in a fist, how to cut it with the cut stalks of rice grains one by one. On the community in Java, such as the Sundanese people there is a belief that harvest the rice should be with ani-ani. It was based on the belief that rice is an incarnation of Goddess Sri, who should be treated with respect, smooth, and soft, with a cut stalks of rice grains one by one.
Ani-ani is also one of the tools used in ritual Ceremony. The Ritual is usually held before the harvest as a form of expression of gratitude and thanks to the earth and to the Goddess that had been growing rice. After the ritual is usually the owner of the fields distribute food to residents of the community as a form of gratitude and to establish social relationships as well as friendship. The so-called food with Sega Wiwit consists of savory rice, chicken meat, vegetable jackfruit, tofu, crackers, crackers, anchovies, eggs, thontho which is usually wrapped in banana leaves or leaves of teak trees.
