Museum Wayang Beber Sekartaji was founded on 01 October 2017 by Indra Suroinggeno, and inaugurated by the Regent of Bantul Drs. H. Suharsono. This Museum is the first museum in Indonesia even in the World that Focuses on Wayang Beber. Featuring Paintings Wayang Beber Ancient and Wayang Beber of Maestro Wayang Beber Works of Mr. Tugiman Hadisuwarno, Mr. Djarot, Mother Hermin Istiariningsih, Dani Iswardana, Seruni Bodjawati, Agus Nuryanto, Indra Suroinggeno, and artists Wayang Beber other. This Museum we are founded on the basis of our love for the culture of the Archipelago, especially in Wayang. Of the many types of Wayang in indonesia, Wayang Beber is so special because the content of the story Wayang Beber is the result of original works of local wisdom.  The Museum is named after the PRINCESS because it is a Condrosengkolo, stands for the Java language : “ MEDITATION CHAKRA JAWATA AJI”. Symbolizes the figures of 1951 Year Java or 2017 Ad. Bookmark the founding of the Museum Wayang Beber Sekartaji. MEDITATION CHAKRA JAWATA AJI has the meaning of “Meditation Toward the Center of the Energy of the God Supreme”. The name of the PRINCESS is also in one of the stories of Wayang Beber, princess Dewi Sekartaji (Galuh Candrakirana) is the main character, a life partner Panji Asmorobangun. Wayang Beber, wayang art that emerged and developed in Java in the Pre-Islamic period and flourished on the Island of Java. Wayang beber own is the ancestor of wayang kulit and need to be preserved. Since its founding the museum has been visited by thousands of guests, both from domestic and foreign guests. With the presence of guests indirectly bring good impact to the welfare of the citizens around the museum, with the needs of the home stay for guests, eating and drinking and so on are all in the governance of the surrounding community. Museum Wayang Beber sekartaji also has a Studio for Art and Culture Bhuana Alit which gives the container the children to learn the culture of the Archipelago. Museum Wayang Beber Sekartaji consists of three space core, A Word (Performances) that serves to present the Staging of Wayang Beber together Studio Bhuana Alit. The Second room is a Space Palon (Storage) in terms of the space of the stored collection of Wayang Beber. Third space is the Space of the Fiber (codex).
