MUSEUM RANGGAWARSITA

Inaugurated on 5 July 1989, the Museum Ranggawarsita become one of the Museum's largest and most comprehensive in Central Java, with the number of collection 59,810 are divided into 10 types, namely geology, biologika, arkeologika, philological, historika, historic, numismatic, heraldika, keramologika, teknologika, ethnografika and fine art.

Name Ranggawarsita taken from the name of the hero poet last keraton Surakarta Hadinigrat Raden Ngabehi (R. Ng) Ranggawarsita.

Museum Ranggawarsita has 4 building the showroom are Building A,B,C,D and space gold. In addition it is equipped with audiovisual room and a library. Each room displays the collection in keeping with the theme.

• Building C1 : a collection of the Islamic period and the Struggle
• Building D1 : collection of the culture of Central Java
• Building D2 : collection of the arts of Central Java
• Building C2 : a collection of traditional houses and etnografika
• Building B2 : a collection of pottery, currency and the human life cycle
• Building A2 : a collection of batik, ceramics and beads
• Gold room : a collection of gold and jewelry the classical hindu-buddha
• Outdoor Exhibition : the Collection in open space (outdoor)
