Japanese ceramics also referred to as ceramic Hizen which is produced in Arita, Kyushu Island. Commonly found in Indonesia as one of the objects traded by the VOC (Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, 1602-1799) which is carried through Banten and Batavia. In the mid-17th century is a war going on in China that hamper the smooth manufacture of ceramic. This makes the VOC shift production to other places in Japan to meet the needs of the market.
